Barricades of 1869

After the Glorious Revolution and the departure of Queen Elizabeth II from Spain, the Parliament approved a monarchial constitution that was not attacked by the republicans, erected in cities such as Valencia and others. The republicans took a significant number of the emblematic buildings in the old city, such as La Lonja, Las Torres de Quart, and los Escolapios (or la Beneficiencia), but the government managed to restore order after eight days of rough combat. In the MHV you can see a large map of the period with the barricades and fortifications of the Valencians and the mortars and shells of the army.
