Traditionally, during the Christmas season, Valencian families celebrated Christmas Eve, the first three days of Christmas, the festival of the Santos Inocentes (“Innocent Saints”) and the informal masquerades on the eve of King’s Day. At the beginning of the 20th century, the custom developed of dining at the end of the year and the procession of the Kings was institutionalized.
