Poble Nou de la Mar

Historic municipality of l’Horta formed in 1837 which included, from north to south, the maritime neighborhoods of Canyamelar, Cabanyal, and Cap de França. From the start of the nineteenth century onwards it was a summer vacation spot for numerous members of the Valencian bourgeosie, coinciding with the widening of the beach that resulted from the construction of the first harbor. In 1897 Poble Nou de la Mar was annexed to Valencia as part of the integration of all the towns in the historic Particular Contribución of the city.
