Josefa Dominica Catalá de Valeriola (Around 1750-1814)

I am Josefa Dominica Catalá de Valeriola Luján, marchioness of Quirra, niece and heir of Joaquín Antonio de Castellví, Earl of Carlet.

I was born in Valencia no more than 50 years ago, but at the moment I reside outside of the kingdom, along with my husband Benito Osorio Manrique de Lara. I have come to spend some time in my hometown, since my uncle , Joaquín Antonio de Castellví, the Earl of Carlet, has decided to appoint me as as his sole heir, given that he has not had a wife or children and his two younger brothers, Francisco Vicente and Ignacio, have passed away. I have used this time to enjoy the exquisite social gatherings held during the evenings by the General Captain of the Royal Palace. I have also been able to purchase fine English clothing and elegant French hats that have just arrived to the fashion boutiques of the city. I have taken peaceful carriage rides through the Alameda and have assisted a bullfight, an opera performance at the Botiga de la Balda, and even a hot air balloon ride through the Valencian sky.
