Manuel de Villafañe (around 1760 - after 1814)

I am Manuel de Villafañe, judge of the Court of Valencia.

I was born in Salamanca almost 40 years ago, but I have lived in Valencia since the last fifteen years, when I obtained the position of governor of the Crime Hearing Court. I serve this nation with pride and I am to regenerate the country without disorders or chaos. This is vital in encouraging the enlightened reforms by their Majesties, the liberalization of trade with America, and the confiscation of church property which was promulgated by Godoy. I myself have joined the Royal Economic Society of Friends of the country of the city and Kingdom of Valencia, an institution that seems to promote the factors that constitute the republic's happiness, which include the economy, law, other practical knowledge, and the arts.
