Fallas

The largest festival in the city of Valencia since the 1920s, though its origins date back to a tradition documented since the second half of the eighteenth century. The central act consisted of burning the groups of dolls, made in a caricature-like style, placed in the streets of the city on the eve of the day of Saint Joseph. Today, the celebration lasts several days and has an enormous amount of attractions, making it a major draw for tourists and a spectacular symbol of Valencia.
