Felipe Lino de Castellví (around 1675 – to 1740)

I am Felipo Lino de Castellví, Earl Of Carlet and salon host along with Father Tosca and Juan Bautista Corachán.

I was born about 50 years ago in Valencia and reside in the city in a grand palace with my wife María Ana Escribano, sister of the Earl of Alcúdia, and my children, Ana, Apolonia and Joaquín. I am the earl of Carlet and own many states, censales and rental properties throughout the kingdom and the Particular Contribution of Valencia. At the moment, I am in talks with the Catalá of Valeriola to arrange the marriage of my daughter Ana with the Marquis of Nules and strengthen our famuly lineage. Recently I have attended, along with members of the most esteemed Valencian nobility, a reception offered by king Felipe in the Royal Palace on the occasion of his visit to Valencia. Ha has given his word on the restoration of civil rights in Valencia, which, as it turns out, is already in effect in Aragon and Catalonia after the War of Succession. When oru monarch, who had occupied the kingdom after the Battle of Almansas, decreed the Nueva Planta and adopted laws and institutuons similar to those in Castile, there was a great unrest among the people, including the nobility who had faithfully followed the Bourbon cause. The fulfilment of this promise would now become an award rightfully deserved by the Valencian peoplr's fidelity, given that only the common stratum sides with the Archduke Charles for two years due to the absence of Bourbon troops in the region. I mysekf was forced to lead the comittee responsible for giving the keys of the city to that vile thief Basset. Fortunately, we are now living in peacetime.
