I am Anesio, Bishop of Valencia, Gothic lineage.

I was born almost 50 years ago in Valencia, the city of the martyrdom of St. Vincent. All my ancestors are of Gothic blood. I have served as the Bishop of Valencia for several years, the highest authority of the city, but the excesses of the new King, the old Chindasvinto, have lately weakened the canonry and damaged the fortunes of nobles who gave generous donations to the Church. There is great unrest among the bishops throughout the kingdom, We who fight against idolatry and pagan practices, and represent God on earth. We also exalt the Church´s power with splendid temples such as the Cathedralof Valencia, which I want to magnify it with ceilings of gold coffer.
