I am Bartomeu Huguet, bruneter apprentice in the workshop of Berenguer Tovià.

I am 14 years old and am the middle child of Pere Huguet and Elisenda Vallés. My father works as an oficial in Miquel Robassa’s Frenería, which is next to the Plaza de San Nicolás and the Moorish quarters. Because he could not feed my, he signed an afermament contract two years ago with the bruneter Berenguer Toviá: he sustains me and teaches me his trade in return for my unwavering obedience. I have learned almost everything about the weaving of wool, but I am forced to serve until age 20.
