Lesso (97-153)

My name is Lesso of Saguntum I´m Iberian.

I serve in the home of my masters, Lucio Antonio Niger and Domitia Justa. I am Iberian, son of a peasant from Arse, the Roman Saguntum. Nine years ago, when I was a boy, a bad harvest drove my father into debt, forcing him to sell me into slavery. “Son, we must either sell you or eat you,” were his words, against which the entreaties of my heartbroken mother did nothing. During my servitude I have managed to gain a little bit of Domicia’s trust, but I still lack the level of comfort that Tales, the arrogant Greek cook, enjoys. The master recently purchased Tanis, an Egyptian slave, but it appears that she is not meant to help serve. She is so alluring!
