I am Domitia Justa, patrician of the gens Domitii.

I was born in the year 83 A.D., under Emperor Domitian, and I just turned 40. My family, the Domitii, have important vineyards west of Valentia [in the modern-day plain of Utiel]. After my youth (pueritia) my wedding was arranged with Lucio Antonio Niger, of the gens Antonio, one of the oldest families of Valentia. I married at age 17 and just after a year, the goddess Juno graced me with a son, Cayo, who is now starting his political career. Later, Antonia was born; she just turned 13, and is already of nubile age. When my husband Lucio was away fulfiling his military obligations I focused on housekeeping and educationg my children, but now I devote most of my time to social life.
I still remember Lucio´s return about eight years ago as if it were yesterday. The same day that the town celebrated his return as a laureate soldier, we conceived little Severo, who is now starting his time in scholla learning his first letters with Greek paedagogus, Iparco.
